Streaming Media

George Mason supports the streaming media needs of faculty and staff in a variety of ways. Visit the Streaming Media at Mason website. Those wishing to create their own streaming content can seek support from the Collaborative Learning Hub (CLUB). The CLUB provides training for content creation methods, encoding, and file transfer for streaming, as well as other services.

Faculty and staff who wish to develop content for broadcast and streaming can contact GMU-TV for support. GMU-TV produces telecourses and other media and handles all streaming, encoding, and transfers as part of its array of services.


  • Faculty and staff can submit requests here to obtain a streaming media account. Following completion of the account request form, your streaming media account will be activated within three to four business days.

  • The following file formats can be streamed: Windows Media (.wmv), QuickTime (.mov), and RealPlayer (.rm)
  • Streaming media accounts contain 5GB of storage space
