As part of the University’s response to continued reductions in state funding and a decline in training needs at the University, effective May 5, 2015, the Information Technology Services Training & Certification group will close.
At that time, Microsoft Productivity (i.e., Outlook, Word, Access, Excel) and Adobe multimedia (InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop) workshops will be discontinued and George Mason University will no longer serve as a CertiPort testing center. Please note that Blackboard, Equity & Diversity, Banner and Fiscal Services workshops will continue to be offered at the University.
Additional services previously offered by the Training & Certification group including one-on-one consultations, end-note and class presentations will be discontinued. Limited telephone support for Adobe and Microsoft software applications (including Outlook), will be available through the ITS Support Center.
To assist the user community, SkillPort will continue to be available as a training resource; and BYTE Week will continue to be offered the week before the start of every fall and summer semester. Check back here in late March for updates and additional information on this transition. Questions can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
